Many best things in life come in small package. Xi-Max is definitely in that group and deserves separate WEB page to itself. In calculator sized device you will find most versatile Smart Card portable terminal ever!

Xi-Max is fully programmable smart card terminal and can be used for almost any smart card application, ePurse, loyalty, ticketing, ID verification, card issuance, health, verification, banking, secure transactions, data collection, clock-in, check-in, store confidential data, passwords...you name it. Xi-Max has single or dual slot ISO smart card reader (see picture above) with full size or full size/SIM cards, connectivity using USB port, serial port to Ethernet, modem, PC, 1MB for data, 1MB for program, 2 AAA batteries. You need SAM (Security Access Module) smart card inserted in order to make Xi-Max operational. That practically means that Xi-Max is useless if found on the floor unless you have authorized smart card to unlock it.

Don't forget that there are millions places without wires, Ethernet, Internet, PC's, phone lines or any other infra structure. That is ideal Xi-Max playground. Transactions with smart cards could be done anywhere, any time and later reviewed and downloaded into PC when available.

Need ideas? Here are some:

• In health providers world you could be: emergency ambulance worker, administrator at reception, nurse in emergency room, doctor making a visits at home of the patient or in hospital bed, pharmacist issuing a medications...and each of these persons could have his/her own Xi-Max and use it to access patient's smart card read and add entries that pertain to his/her job description. Example, pharmacist would see and handle only medications data, emergency worker only emergency data (blood type, allergies, chronical diseases...) and so on.


• You could have a stand in the middle of the park, far from phone, Internet or other wireless connectivity and charge cards and provide products.


• Security is paramount in many applications. Cruise ship in port gets visited by hundreds or thousands of handlers, suppliers, crew, maintenance people, tourists. Person with Xi-Max at the stairs could check credentials of every person coming or going. Just a simple badge with picture doesn't cut it any more. You could also have list of approved persons downloaded every morning into Xi-Max to have fresh list every day or at any time.


• For really high security applications you would want to have portable fingerprint reader working together with Xi-Max. Power plants, VIP meetings, Government institutions, closed meetings or presentations could benefit from such setup.


• Waiter could be on the porch of restaurant using his Xi-Max to charge for food and services. Xi-Max could be connected to portable printer to print receipt at the spot making it effectively complete POS terminal.


• You have Internet Cafe or amusement park or games playground. You don't need office to issue new cards or reload existing ones in order to make it running efficiently. Xi-Max is your portable office - card handling device.


• Xi-Max could be portable data base with price list or data only authorized people should see. It might need president and accounting VP to plug their respective smart cards at the same time to unlock the data.
